Laser Fungal Nail Treatment (Onchymicosis)

90% Success Rate!

Does your nail infection make you feel self-conscious about putting on open toe shoes or going barefoot? You’re not alone.

Toenails are about 25 times more likely than fingernails to be infected. The longest toe, either the first or the second, which bears the brunt of pressure and trauma from footwear, is particularly susceptible to invasion, although multiple nails are typically infected.

What are the benefits?

  • No side effects
  • No harm to the nail or skin
  • No anaesthesia needed
  • Usually only four to six sessions required
  • Shoes and nail polish can be worn immediately after treatment

Have you tried everything?

Multiple therapies, including surgical, chemical, topical, and oral methods, have been used in the past to treat Onychomycosis, with oral therapies generally performing best. However, none of these treatment options provides lasting cure.

With our advanced technology we can turn your feet into a summer dream. Clinical trials show that the laser procedure safely destroys the fungus in 85 – 90% of cases, which is better than the alternative medications.

The Laser beam is designed to shine through your nail and destroy the specific pathogens embedded in and under it that cause the infection.

The nail will not become instantly clear - it takes time to grow out. This is a better result than antifungal medicine, which you take for three months with some risk of side effects to the liver or kidneys.

How can I prepare for the laser treatment?

To prepare for a laser treatment for fungal nail infection it is usually advisable to first have a full medical pedicure or see a Chiropodist. Reduction in the thickness of the infected nail will then allow the laser light to penetrate as deep as possible to completely kill the infection. A medical pedicure can also be carried out if you have unwanted dry skin, thick toenails, corns or calluses. Your nails will immediately show a marked improvement.

How long will it take to see results?

After a series of treatments, a new healthy nail will push the diseased portion out, which can then be cut or scraped away. Following the procedure it is vital that you maintain a high level of hygiene and discard any socks that may have been infected

What can I expect from my Fungal Nail treatment?

If the nail bed is healthy the nail plate should grow out in six months to a year, with healthy new growth visible within three months. Individual clients may need between 4-6 laser treatments to ensure that each part of the growing nail has been treated.

The number of procedures can vary depending on the depth of the infection into the nail bed and for how long it has been there.
